A Giant Cupcake!
Check out this giant cupcake! On Thursday we went to
a gathering at a local lake, and the woman who hosted it always does something special for the children.
Toward the end of the picnic she surprised them with the cupcakes; I thought they were so cool I had to take a couple of pictures. They really looked like hamburgers! Of course, all the children were
amazed, they had a great time eating them, and nobody cared that they were super
messy because we were outside and they
got to go swimming again to
clean off.
The cupcakes came from
*Whole Foods and the woman who provided them said they cost $2.99
apiece. (To me, this would be cheap in Tokyo, but it seems expensive for Colorado.) She special-ordered 10 of them, having seen them there once before. Whoever
thought these up really has a good imagination! Although --
no offense to Whole Foods or the
inventor of the cupcakes -- they weren't all that good. Too
gooey, even for
a bunch of little kids, which is gooey indeed. But they sure were fun!

Whole Foods Market is the world's largest retailer of natural and organic foods, with stores throughout North America and the United Kingdom.

Wow! What a ride. Back in 1980, we started out with one small store in Austin, Texas. Today, we're the world's leader in natural and organic foods, with more than 270 stores in North America and the United Kingdom. What a long, strange trip it's been. We still honor our original ideals, and we think that has a lot to do with our success.
