Kaya's 5th birthday is coming up, and we're getting ready. We'll have her kids' party at Crackpots, a pottery-painting studio. 25 kids will be there, plus their parents, so we need lots of
provisions. The first thing we
shopped for was this:
Goody bag supplies! This is a birthday party custom here: In
the time-honored tradition of
goody bags, we will fill our bags with all these "goodies" for our guests to take with them when they leave. Into each of 25 bags will go: 1
noisemaker, 1
rubber lizard or frog, 1
glow-in-the-dark bracelet, 1 super ball, 1 necklace, 1 pin, and 3 or 4 small pieces of candy. If possible, all have to be exactly the same.
Kids Kaya's age really notice if they didn't get a super ball or if someone else got two lizards. So we have to fill carefully! We got everything for the goody bags at Target. I'm planning on going to Costco for the food and drink supplies.
Kaya also
got her hair cut for the big occasion. She decided
on her own to get a short haircut, and she
picked a cut out of a magazine at the salon and had the stylist copy it. Here are before and after pics. She's really growing up - she knows what she wants! And I think her short hair looks great.
