While we were still getting ready for Kaya's kids' party, Grandpa and
Nana had us over for a little family birthday celebration at their
house. It was simple and fun - we had a backyard barbecue with
hamburgers and potatoes and corn, and then Kaya had a cake and opened
a few presents. Nana bought Kaya a special Barbie before the party -
she let her pick it out herself - to get ahead of the rush of Barbies
she will surely get from her friends, and also to make sure if there's
a duplicate that Nana's came first and the other person's Barbie will
get exchanged. Good thinking, Nana. (Kaya chose a Barbie that comes
with a little swimming pool and a diving dog that jumps off the diving
board into the water. Cute!)

バースデーケーキのお話
何歳になってもバースデーケーキは嬉しいものです。
お祝いされる人ばかりでなく、お祝いする人たちも
ケーキ選びやプレゼント選びはウキウキしますね。
お誕生日のケーキといえば、年齢の数のろうそくと
名前の書かれたチョコレートのプレートがのっているのが定番です。
こんなユニークなキャンドルも最近ではあるようです。
そうそう、なんと犬用のバースデーケーキも発見！
骨の形をしたプレートにワンちゃんの名前が･･･
ところで、誕生日のろうそくを吹き消す前にはお願い事をしますよね。
次回の貴方のお誕生日には、

なんて、心の中でつぶやいてみたらいかがでしょうか。
