I know that most of you are trying to improve your English skills, and
I also know that when something is interesting, it's more fun to use
it to learn. So I thought I'd recommend a few good books for good
reading practice.
These three are all books that I've read recently, and that I enjoyed
very much. The level of English is not very difficult - I think they
are all suitable for non-native speakers of English, and tell good
tales in the bargain!
1) Bringing Home the Birkin

Amazon.co.jp
Non-fiction, about an American who moves to Barcelona and falls into a
life of buying and selling Hermes merchandise on eBay for a living. A
very interesting tale! I especially liked how the book is broken up
into short chapters that can be read individually. Good for reading on
the train, perhaps, where short bursts of reading work well.

2) Remembering Smell

Amazon.co.jp
A memoir written by a woman whose sense of smell was taken away by an
over-the-counter medication. It's fascinating, and really made me
think about the roles smell and taste play in my own life.
3) Marley & Me

Amazon.co.jp
A very sweet story about "the world's worst dog". Marley's
antics are legend! If you like animals you'll love this book. It was
also made into a hit movie. The author also has a blog, and the book
even has a
Facebook page! There are lots of avenues for studying
English with this one.
