July 19, 2010 Japan will celebrate Umi no Hi, a national holiday typically translated to Ocean Day or Marine Day in English. This Ocean Day is a very special day for me, because I will be conducting a new TOEIC seminar at Essence English School. If you don't have plans to go to the beach and immerse yourself in cool Pacific waters, why not join me at Essence and immerse yourself in the English language for a while?


The seminar will be from 1 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. on Monday, July 19, and the class will have a strong focus on TOEIC test-taking strategies. I intend to pack the 2.5-hour course with a wealth of information and advice about TOEIC, gathered through my eight-year career teaching TOEIC and writing practice test material. To help illustrate strategy points and other topics discussed in the seminar, we will look at a variety of questions featured in TOEIC Listening Box from Japan Times, which is included in the material package for the class. The seminar will be beneficial for students at all proficiency levels, but especially for those students who want to develop sound strategies and gain insight into the nature of the TOEIC test listening section from the perspective of an experienced teacher and creator of practice test material.
